- Privacy Policy
At Straight from France, we respect your privacy. Personal Information is collected simply to send your orders and respond to any queries. Straight From France will not disclose buyer's information to third parties. We will use your e-mail address no more than a few times per year to send you updates about our promotions or new products, unless you ask us not to by e-mailing us.
- Order processing
Depending on the period of the year and whether or not we experience a higher order volume than usual at the moment you place your order, it might take us around 2 business days to process your order from the moment we have actually received your payment. Once packed and handed to our carrier, your order will be traceable on our website by clicking on the Order Tracking link. Just enter your confirmation number that appears in the email you have received after placing your order. Straight From France reserves the right not to accept payment, and therefore not to confirm, for whatever reason, any order, including but not limited to reasons resulting from product supply, a problem with the order received, or a problem completing the delivery.
- Prices
All our prices and charges are in US Dollars. Prices are subject to change without notice. At his/her express demand, Straight From France will issue an invoice for the customer at an indicated address.
- Delivery Policy
When checking out, you will be given a list of different shipping methods from which you can pick the one that suits you (according to the desired delay etc..) The total cost of goods, the shipping charges and the sales taxes (if applicable) are clearly displayed at the final checkout.
Once your order is submitted and your payment received, orders are usually processed and shipped within 24 hours. We use FedEx or sometimes USPS Priority mail to carry and deliver packages. Delivery takes approximately 1 to 5 business days. Of course, your delivery time also depends on the delivery option you have chosen while checking out and on how far you are located from our warehouse in California. As we cannot be responsible for the speed of any carrier, we cannot guarantee delivery by a specific date. We will, however, do the best we can!

Please note that packages do not ship on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Please add a few additional days for transit for orders placed around these holidays.
We ship most of our products to all 50 states in the USA, including Alaska and Hawai (although deliveries to these 2 states may take a bit longer). We don’t do international deliveries at this time. However, some states apply specific regulations on certain kinds of products. Many states, for example, prohibit out-of-state retailers from shipping wine to residents of their state. Such state laws on alcohol shipping are complex and under constant review. Therefore, before placing an order, please make sure that you are familiar with the order recipient's states restrictions on shipping and that you abide by the maximum limit of wine which can be shipped under your state's regulations. As well, the recipient is responsible for any applicable taxes within their state for their shipments.
Also, for orders containing alcohol, shipping regulations require Straight From France to ensure that the recipient is at least 21 years old. Therefore we require our shipping carriers at the time of delivery to collect a signature from an adult that can demonstrate that they are at least 21 years old by showing a valid picture id issued by a government agency. If an adult of at least 21 years old is not present to sign for the delivery, this will be considered as a failed delivery by the carrier and a subsequent attempt to deliver will be made.
States allowing us to ship alcohol directly: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas*, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Wyoming. * Texas law prohibits us from shipping alcoholic products containing more than 16% alcohol

- Failed deliveries
A "failed delivery" is the result of our shipping carrier not being able to deliver the merchandise you have ordered from us, to you. This could be due to multiple reasons such as your absence, an incorrect delivery address, the absence of a 21 year-old person for orders including alcoholic beverages... Most carriers make 2 or 3 delivery attempts. They will return your order to us afterwards. Would this happen, Straight From France cannot be held responsible for the failed deliveries, and the customer will be liable for the additional fees required to perform another delivery (and possible repacking). Under no circumstances will the shipping and handling fees be refunded to the customer as a result of failed deliveries, whatever the reason. Straight From France will not accept to refund an order that has been returned to us, and for which the customer is not willing to pay the additional handling & shipping charges. Likewise, Straight from France is not responsible for typographical or other shipping address errors resulting in a failed delivery or delivery to an incorrect address. It is imperative that the customer review the shipping address and recipient information on their order confirmation and that they carefully monitor the expected delivery date on their specific shipment. Unfortunately none of the shipping carriers provide delivery time estimates at this time. You should presume that you will need to be available all day. In order to assure the smoothest and most convenient delivery, we recommend that you utilize a commercial or business address.
Additionally, Straight From France is not liable for shipping carrier errors or mistakes resulting in delivery delays or incorrect estimation of delivery dates. No delivery will be made to any person that is suspected to be intoxicated. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that an appropriate person is available to receive and sign for the delivery on the day the goods arrive to the delivery address. At last, note that we cannot ship to PO, APO, or FPO box offices.
- Products damaged in shipment
Upon receipt, the customer must inspect the delivered goods at the moment of delivery, and notify us in writing at support@straightfromfrance.com within 24 hours of any dissatisfaction (breakages or else). He/she must examine whether the quality and the quantity of the goods comply with what was agreed upon. If a problem is discovered, email us with the item names, the purchase order number from your packing slip, and the product number (if applicable) for return approval. Please provide us with as much information as you can about the damage. Possible visible damage to the parcel containing the goods must also be reported within 24 hours following receiving. Thank you for attaching a copy of your invoice to your email. We will then process your claim very shortly. For items damaged in transit, a damage claim will be submitted with either USPS, UPS, DHL, or Fedex and a refund will be submitted once the claim is complete. We may, at our discretion, choose to compensate you with a replacement product of like or similar value, a discount, a refund or an account credit to be used for a later purchase. Please keep all damaged merchandise, boxes, and packing material for inspection by UPS, DHL, or Fedex. Straight From France cannot and will not for any reason, be held liable for any deterioration in the products due to customers failure to collect the products in a timely manner. Our maximum liability arising out of any order for the supply of goods to you under this contract will be limited to the retail price of the goods contained in that order. Additionally, note that you will not be charged for any incorrect goods or goods which you have not received.
- Returns
If approved by our Customer support department, returns on defective or damaged items are accepted within 15 days of order receipt. Straight From France won’t refund the costs related to the return of the goods unless this return has been agreed upon in writing beforehand. It will take us 1 week after we received your return to process the refund. If using a credit card, refunds will be credited to your account. We suggest using UPS or insured Parcel Post (USPS insured) to return your purchase, or any other method that provides insurance and tracing. You should retain the insurance and shipping receipt showing when and how you sent it until the credit appears on your charge card account.
- Cancellation
Once an order is placed, we cannot refund it or take it back unless, of course, the products that you have ordered have been damaged during shipping, or if there has been a mistake on our side. Would that happen, please notify us in writing at support@straightfromfrance.com within 24 hours. Don’t return any item to us before prior approval by our Customer service department. Please shop carefully and don't hesitate to contact us would you have any questions regarding our products.
- Warranty & Liability
Straight From France guarantees that the goods to be delivered shall meet the usual requirements and standards that can be set for and made upon them and that they have taken all the necessary care and attention to assure they correspond to the description that is given on the site and date the order was made. This guarantee shall be valid for the standard period the goods ought to be fresh, untill expiry date if applicable. In all cases, Straight From France liability shall be limited to replacing the defective good, or to returning the purchase price. No guarantee is given at defect goods when this is the result of injudicious or improper use or when the customer or third parties have introduced changes or tried to introduce changes to the goods without Straight From France knowledge or consent in writing or if they have used it for purposes for which the goods were not intended. The customer is personally liable for its choice of products and after delivery is entirely responsible for the conservation and consumption of the products. - Transfer of title and risk
The title to all food, drinks (alcoholic or not) and any items purchased from StraightFromFrance.com passes to the buyer at the moment payment is received. Thereafter, Straight From France acts only as the customer’s agent for shipping their goods. The purchaser is responsible for the shipments of all orders he or she places with StraightFromFrance.com.
Straight From France cannot be held responsible for what may happen to purchases while in transit. If you receive merchandise that has been broken during shipping, you must contact us within 24 hours of receiving the parcel. Besides, please note that Straight From France and its carriers will not issue refunds for damages such as the defacement of labels or spoilage. Neither Straight From France nor its carriers are liable for the deterioration of the merchandise due to exposure to extreme temperatures or humidity while in transit. During summer months or during hot weather spells, we cannot guarantee that our products will not suffer from exposure to the heat during shipping. To minimize this risk we may ask that you utilize next day or overnight shipping at an increased cost. While we generally watch the weather for the continental United States, it is incumbent upon the purchaser to chose the appropriate means of shipping to avoid exposure to heat in their specific location. Remember, UPS and most other shippers of individual packages do not use air condition or refrigerated vehicles. Dependent upon your location, your shipment can be in the back of shipping company's vehicle for extended periods of time.
- Stock availability
Products are subject to availability. If a product you have ordered is out of stock, we will notify you by email and suggest, when possible, other similar products available. We will not replace the unavailable products by other products of a similar price and nature before your written approval (by email).
